Family First!

We Knights of Columbus have always been about families.  When Father Michael J McGivney originally founded the Knights on March 29th of 1882, his aim was to protect Catholic families from economic disaster in the event they should lose their breadwinner to death or disability.  Today, the Knights are as family-oriented as then and perhaps even more so.  While we may often think of the Knights as a "men only" fraternity, everything we do is really about strengthening and supporting our families.  All of our activities are -- and rightly should be -- family activities.  We attend church as families.  We perform our charitable activities such as our Sandwich Ministry, Fresh Food Distribution, Marches for Life, Lenten Fish Fries, prayer and spiritual retreat ministries, fund raisers, and even golf tournaments as families.

In the year ahead, we will be emphasizing that we Knights are about family first, and by that I mean about building, strengthening, and protecting Christ-centered families before anything else.  Several of our members have creative and exciting ideas about how to share our Family First mission more effectively with our Parish and and community.  I am looking forward to your creative and innovative ideas as we prepare to wrap-up 2019 and move forward into 2020!
