Knights Present New Wheelchair to a Local Neighbor in Need

On Christmas Eve 2019, our Council presented Brasha Hargrow with a new wheelchair.  Brasha lives with her family just a few blocks from our Parish, Ascension Catholic Church.  Ellie Hernandez, Brasha's caregiver, contacted the Parish Officer to see if a wheelchair.  The Office referred Ellie to Ascension's Knights of Columbus Council which works with the American Wheelchair Mission to provide wheelchairs for free to those in need.

In the photo above, Brasha Hargrow (seated in the center) is surrounded by her family and caregiver,  and by the Knights who arranged to provide her with the gift of mobility just in time for Christmas.  Front row (left to right):  Annie Hargrow, KC Hargrow, Brasha Hargrow, and Ellie Hernandez, Brasha's caregiver.  Back row: Grand Knight Lee Fracker, Brother Knights Larry Young, Paul Vinklarek, Gary Young, and Deacon Paul Cooke, our Council's Spiritual Director.  Deacon Cooke prayed with Brasha and her family, and also blessed her new wheelchair.
