You may know that Ascension Council was a sponsor of the Bastrop Pregnancy Resource Center's Golf for for Life Tournament. In addition to making a significant financial contribution to the Pregnancy Resource Center, we also fielded a four-person team, including Worthy Knights Gary Raemsch, Gary Young, Larry Young, and Gilbert Zamora (shown left-to-right in the photo below), each of whom is an accomplished golfer in their own right. Twenty teams from the local area were in competition.
The tournament, held at ColoVista Golf Club near Bastrop on Saturday, September 28, followed the shotgun format, where all the teams start at the same time, each from a different hole. Since there are only 18 holes for 20 teams, you won't be surprised to learn that the tournament lasted six hours!
You also won't be surprised to learn that our talented low-handicap team landed in the top seven of the 20 teams! Congratulations to our Awesome Foursome!
More good news: The tournament netted over $21,000 to benefit the Bastrop Pregnancy Resource Center. We the Ascension Knights are delighted to have helped make the Golf for Life Tournament such a roaring success. |  |
